Goose is my pal. I don't argue with anyone but pals.
Some good pushback on my language here. I'm an anticiv guy and don't intend to conflate fascism and green radicalism bsky.app/profile/mamm...
and, so far ecofascism has been my (I guess, bad) shorthand for that.
I don't really disagree with any of this, but I do think there's value in saying "this is the map that fascists are laying out now and these are the tools in their toolkit that they're using to wedge their way through the landscape of the present"
I like "climate leviathan" but I don't think that means anything to most people
Right, and that's what I mean by ecofascism. If there's a better term that conveys that, I'm open to it.
I hear you that most of the finger pointing to "green fascists" amounts to pointing at ghosts, but in order for the structures of control to continue to self perpetuate there will be a climate response and that response will inevitably be authoritarian in nature
I see a direct line from DOD reports calling to prepare for climate migration and destabilization to "Build the Wall" even if the people leading that chant aren't saying that part out loud
Everyone is ultimately running on that platform, calls to fortify borders and secure resources are acknowledgements that we have given up on stopping the release of excess carbon and are instead preparing to build a lifeboat for us at the expense of the rest of the world.
