The 'ex-leftists' among the latter are a good example of the importance of maintaining the right level of eye-rolling antipathy for liberals - in 2016 they were fresh and interesting, in 2020 it was too much of an act, and by now it's become a weird Hitler mask that burned into their faces

Once the reasons for disliking liberals become hard to distinguish from the way right wingers dislike liberals (and I do think they are quite distinct with some slight overlap) it gets a little dangerous
