do I give them punny names (too Pokemon-y? ironic given that this started as "PMD But Not") do I name them based off of related real-world terms (e.g. something derived from "lapine" or "lagomorph" for something rabbit-y) do I just Put Syllables Together and pretend I'm doing a conlang thing

the only thing I have down is laikans (singular 'laikan') for what are basically Vaguely Canine Kobolds because I am admittedly too attached to that pun but everything else is up in the air
