That wd be the BL's Crime Classics series, which has lots of goodies. You might also like to look at _Crime in Good Company_ (1959), a collection of thoughtful essays on the art of #mystery writing (ed. Michael Gilbert).

As you like Camilla Trinchieri, you might like her earlier Simona Griffo series under the pseudonyms Trella Crespi/Camilla T Crespi. Re John Lescroart: he's also in a band, which has some catchy tunes (johnlescroart.com/crowart-reco...#WW2 series is excellent.
