in my 20s I hung up my own art all over my room, and once I had a friend come over and she judged my room. saying 'isn't it narcissistic to hang up your own stuff?' I just stared at her flatly and asked her why other people have more claim to admire my work than I do when I was the one who made it

things I'd like to see (esp younger) artists do more: hang up your own damn artwork on display in your own home/space! i didnt for years and really regret that. Just fed into the whole "i am supposed to be critical of my stuff always" falsehood. You are allowed to love your own work too!
