If we survive this election I may have to write a long long piece on how journalists have used the word "defiance." In THIS case, it is fucking stupid for Trump to return to Butler. But he has to go bc nothing else is bringing the old juice. www.nytimes.com/2024/10/05/u...
Not sure if the problem with the NYT is the writers or the editors. But if Henry Jarvis Raymond came back, he'd be apt to start throwing people out of windows.
“Proud defiance” are words you use to describe a loved one’s righteous struggle, not words a supposedly objective journalist uses to describe a political gambit
Private Bone Spurs is so brave. It just warms my combat vet heart that he can be so brave behind Secret Service and local law enforcement, and with the perpetrator being dead all. Definitely does not have my vote. Not that the coward ever did.
He's already likely been deeply affected by finding out he is mortal. Returning to the scene of that discovery will likely be very triggering for him. Let's see if he makes it through his speech or completely breaks down.
Butler is a tiny town so it provides a perfect excuse for small crowd size.
What is he defying?
USSS should be telling him “no” to these fat wrestlemania whine-offs. Maybe without media coverage they’d go away. He only makes news by saying something stupid or racist.
NBC describes how the Secret Service is at the breaking point. Butler would never be easy to protect, and the richest edgelord in the world is adding himself to the mix. www.nbcnews.com/news/trump-r...
A spokesman for the agency said, “we recognize that this is not sustainable, and we cannot risk another mission failure.”
Unless he has a death-wish. Like a school shooter committing suicide-by-cop. Or even better - suicide by assassination. He'd like to rule the world. But if he can't, he'd rather "die in glory" than go to prison.
