The instances I've seen required fairly heavy effort to recreate; I don't recall how good the results were.

I didn't think this is a case of compression; you can't extract out the original from the data set. Yes, there are relatively rare instances you can trick the algorithm into recreating it, but those are not designed into the system the way compression algorithms are.
