I didn't follow whoever the latest "bhut echo chamber" was, and not sure I care. It sound a lot like people who're being shunned complaining that nobody will talk to them. That problem is not entirely negligible: it is not an efficient way to track what violence the fringe nuts are planning next.
Just for the record my wife did not take my name when we legally married and our son took her name (well, first-- she decided his name should be hyphenated). And you know what happened? My balls did not drop off or ANYTHING. Amazing. Legitimately, my name is somewhat more burdensome than most. :)

Agree. Strong distrust for poorly defined (usually undefined) standards that just come down to "what everybody knows is not nice," meaning, ass-backwards from the start, or completely weaponized by assholes. Simple enforceable explicit behavior floor and a vision.
