In addition, there's also blocklists that get maintained. You have to trust that the folks running the blocklist aren't dicks, but they'll flag accounts and you can automatically block any accounts they flag. Labelers also exist which label accounts/post and you decide what happens to them.

There are different feeds that are run by individual people. You follow feeds that interest you, and the person who runs the feed determines the type of content that should be in it. When you follow feeds, things like your feeds start to appear in Discover. That's really it.
I had a lot of hope for Threads, and I'm kind of bummed it turned out so lame. And I'm more bummed that it's getting worse.
We got a table on Wayfair and it showed up with a massive chunk taken out of one of the ends. We only discovered it once we got everything out of the packaging and at that point it was easier to give up and put a tablecloth over it.
