Allyship is earned not taken. You don’t get to award the label to yourself. Whether or not you are a safe person is demonstrated not stated. Show don’t tell. Don’t do the work simply to get the cookie. Do it because the lives being saved are valuable. Even if your work is never even noticed.

Here here! I would like to think of myself as one but I am fully aware it's not up to me to say. To be one, it's to go "OK, tell me where you want me" and do that, not "I clearly know better about your experience than you do, so follow/worship me!".
