On a road trip when I was 11, my dad spotted a group off the road we were exploring & thought "what the heck, let's pull over." It was the 1st California condors being reintroduced into the wild. Dad wept. He'd followed the conservation efforts for years & got to see the release totally by chance.
That is so incredible! I can't believe it for him and for you! We got to see one in 2001 in the Grand Canyon, surely after they were reintroduced there. He had talked about them on the cross country trip in, and they're it was! Total shock, and my father was similarly so happy!
I remember as a kid one time @ Mt. Piños I saw a condor. It was so high in the air and we were really confused and ruled out a plane because it was moving too slow but neither a helicopter because they shouldn't circle. Minutes later it dawned on us that we were looking at a condor!
that's beautiful, thank you for sharing!
That's the kind of "chance" I wonder if it's really chance, or perhaps something to do with the movements of love. Delighted this happened for your dad.
That's so cool.
Such a sweet story. Thank you for sharing 💗
That’s beautiful
That’s really cool! And so great that you got to see it, too. I remember hearing about that as a kid
