Point is, you shouldn't feel bad for taking time to enjoy yourself. Life isn't all about struggle, it's about savouring the time we have on this earth. As the song goes: "Small art and love and beauty their trudging spirits knew— Yes, it is Bread we fight for—but we fight for Roses, too."

I'm right there with you. I'm literally going over my media textbooks from univeristy so, when my next three videos are done, I can start doing reviews of old monster movies. The world feels so dark right now, and in many ways I just want to create something that makes people happy.

I still plan to pick up a copy of both Barbara Creed 's 'The Monstrous-Feminine' and 'Women Make Horror: Filmmaking, Feminism, Genre' (collection of essays by different authors) when I'm done, but this will hopefully get me on track for one of my projects once the backlog is done.

I was really worried before the New Year about how I'd get back into media studies as I felt like I needed a refresher on everything, then I remembered I had my old introduction textbook by Paul Hodkinson (absolute legend! Loved his lectures on subcultures) and well, that was that.

To be clear (because I don't want anyone lying about what I've said), Girl Defined is an absolutely abhorrent person. Just like Rachel Oates. Yet Oates acts like she's immune to scrutiny.

In that instance, not only are you using ableism, (specifically sanism) to attack an individual, but you're doing so in a way that further stigmatises everyone with mental health problems. The vast majority of abusers are drunk on power, not mentally ill. Focus on that. 🧵 - End

I realize that there are people who can be harmed by certain images, but you can log out for now and come back later. The Palestinian people might not exist later if Israel gets its way. There is a need to triage community needs, and right now Palestinians take precedent. (3/3)

The Palestinian people are not in a position to let the world 'opt-out' of seeing what's being done to them. There's a reason Israel is fighting so hard to instill a media blackout, and by socially policing Palestinian voices, you are making yourself an accessory to said regime. (2/3)
