I don’t think investing in infrastructure is costly. It reduces accidents cutting health costs, loss of work, disability. It stimulates the economy. Fewer cars mean more people walking & enjoying the city. It’s a question of leadership.

Even so, cyclists don’t kill, motorists do and they often kill cyclists and pedestrians. Have a good day.

I take you just want to provoke an angry response, try X. Perhaps you should try to cycle so you’d soon notice that lanes are often obstructed and interrupted, that if you need to turn, you should be close to the turning not trying to cut across. Bikes should have separate infrastructure 1/2

I think the best thing would be for cities/towns to have trams and cycling infrastructure, school cycling ‘buses’ (kids chaperoned by adults) also safe bike parking. Amsterdam was dominated by cars in the 1970s. Paris has been transformed in a few years.
