I need more evidence for that. I'm willing to accept corporate greed as a motive -- they make a lot of money from controversy, and stoking it is not beyond them. But corporations prefer predictable stability in their markets, and I'm not sure they're willing to risk Trump's chaos again.
This implies that corporations are run by competent people who understand the consequences of their actions and frankly I don't know much evidence we have for that. Long term thinking doesn't exactly dominate board rooms right now
