Or possibly it's a new storytelling theatre show with fantasy elements. At least if I make it that I'll have to finish it. (or stand on stage in front of paying audience with nothing to say.)
listen, raising kids is hard as hell but then are moments like this evening when i was sitting with my son, and he was leaning back on me and telling me about his day, and when it was time to say his favorite part, he paused, thought for a moment and said “right now is the best part of my day.” 🥹
So I started writing additional background for a short story I've been working on that was a bit undercooked, and I've fallen down a hole and realise its another novel. One day I'll finish something.

I wonder if there is any artform that doesn't currently rely on unpaid labour, and artists having other means of support?
Different shape of the same nonsense exists in theatre. Even where there is public funding (as there is in Scotland)
