The block lists here are so helpful. I just hope people keep maintaining them.
I have a pretty nice 5.1 speaker setup and I think it actually amplifies (🥁) the problems. Dialogue is often keyed to the center speaker, with the volume quite often lower than environmental/soundtrack that come out of the larger side speakers.
Keep your cats inside, anyway … they live longer/healthier and you'll do a tiny part in helping prevent the deaths of some of the billions of wild birds killed every year by cats.
I listened to this a few years ago. Story and narration were excellent.
Math, don't forget the math! (for the non-diabetics: eating and taking insulin requires a lot of math: carbs, glycemic index, current blood sugar levels, recent/future exercise, recent/future alcohol consumption, … so much math)
Possibly scared to deal with it. I've heard of electricians turning down jobs to disable/replace/remove it, but never one who would recommend keeping it hot. It's such a fire hazard.
The last owners of my house remodeled and upgraded everything, and still couldn't be bothered to add ground wires to half of the outlets … but they "helpfully" installed 3-prong plugs for that extra serving of fire hazard. And that doesn't even come close to the mess others have with knob/tube.
"minor" … have you ever looked at US residential wiring? 🤣
Honestly I would like to find whoever it was who first posited into the public consciousness the idea that there is some sort of conflict between libraries lending books and authors getting paid, because I would really like to kick their ass in about it.
