“Four years later, despite pleas from safety investigators, regulators in Washington have outlined no clear plan to address those shortcomings, allowing the Autopilot experiment to continue to play out on American roads, with little federal intervention.” www.washingtonpost.com/technology/i...

The final 11 seconds of a fatal Tesla Autopilot crash

A lawsuit over the crash could determine whether the maker of the technology bears some responsibility when things go wrong in a vehicle guided by Autopilot.

What I find puzzling about Tesla's business model of killing its customers with an overhyped Autopilot is that, on average, dead customers are less likely to buy new cars in the future.

My dad builds racing/hot rod engines. (did, business is almost dead.) I've seen guys put the 900hp engine dad built into cars with stock rear ends. No 4 link, no nothing, just stock. I can't say I'm surprised that stuff like this is allowed. If you only knew what was already going on before this...

IMO this is also a consequence of a gerontocracy, the same people have been underregulating tech for the past 30 years but you know, they were elected 30 years ago in their 40s so we all have to wait for them to die in office before anyone else gets to regulate

I think we now have enough data to conclude that yes, "Trolley Problem: The LARP" is a terrible idea and it's time to stop doing it on public roads.

They shouldn't call it Auto Pilot, and Tesla also markets "Full Self-Driving Capability." I've been in cars on closed tracks that do self-driving just as well as a Tesla, but they aren't sold that way. Because it's dangerous.

I honestly couldn’t much care if autopilot kills the person driving the car. They chose to be there and to trust the system. It’s everyone *else* on the road who needs protection!

To be fair many Tesla engineers were against removing LIDAR and were over ruled by unno who 🤷🏾‍♂️

FSD won’t be happening any time soon 🤷🏾‍♂️

I’m a little concerned that Tesla drivers on the whole just drive SO BADLY to start with its gonna let Tesla/Musk off the hook tbh This guy doing 69 in a 55, the guy in Mountain View playing a game, there was a guy who killed a kid who’d put weights on the steering wheel to turn off the warnings…

The videos of people in teslas while the car self drives are absolutely harrowing.
