Also, anxiety and ADHD are highly correlated, which is obvious to anyone with ADHD who’s had a lot of awful experiences with “constantly messing things up without realizing you’re doing it, leading you to a life of wondering at all times if you’re doing something horribly wrong.”
I don't really wonder anymore. I'm pretty sure that I'm fucking something up, I just don't know what. And *that* drives me nuts.
But people don't know that about you if you're also very good at masking!
sure would suck if the terror of messing up interfered with the ability to even start getting a thing done
Gotta love comorbidities. I forget to take my ritalin but I don't forget to take my anxiety meds because that has had a huge impact on my personal life.
I'm 36 and going into the neurodoc this may to see if I have any ADHD or other issue. It's never too late. Also, there is a chance mine came from damage due to anesthesia from surgeries when I was older, so.... Let's hope they don't stick to the old model.
A good friend of mine with ADHD is constantly apologizing for everything, even when he did nothing wrong (or subject to a right-wrong assessment) at all. Seems like he spends a lot of time knowing he’s in trouble, but ultimately doesn’t really know why.
For me the anxiety is solidly connected to ADHD for sure No anxiety meds ever improved my anxiety, only my ADHD meds have done that.
the cool thing about coming out as trans is that now everything i do *is* horribly wrong by default, so theres less worry
I'm bipolar type 2 so I can't get off everything but I was able to stop one med entirely after starting ADHD medication and I'm hoping to taper down on a couple others now I'm on better ADHD meds. I really wonder how many meds I could have avoided if I had a dx earlier.
