FWIW (my PhD is actually MIT, so you can tell it’s gonna be worse), I had two published papers that have today 25 citations when I got my PhD: ui.adsabs.harvard.edu/search/fq=%7.... Never published my thesis…. So, many such cases?
I know but you, uh, ‘passed within the radius of influence’ 😂 But I guess… ok! I was under the impression Caltech was pretty aggressive about pre-PhD pubs, but I guess not always!
