My wife is constantly “I want a koala” or “we need to get a meerkat” or “get me a pygmy raccoon” but just ONCE I say I want a Moo Deng and I am being “unrealistic” and “weird” and “concerning”
There is absolutely nothing surprising about this. It's part of why you should never talk to cops. If cops lie to you, they're doing their job. If you lie to the cops, you're committing a crime. Never talk to the cops without a lawyer.
Apart from everything else about this that is horrifying (and everything about it IS horrifying), I want to note that law enforcement ACTIVELY LIED to this young woman. Cops told her she just had to meet with them in person to "close the case out." When she showed up, they ARRESTED HER.
