It's a nice thought, but I think if it were true, we would have seen the WI/MI/PA polls in 2016 more closely match the vote totals. Instead, polls showed Clinton would win, and she did not. What people really didn't want to tell pollsters is that they're voting for Trump, because it's embarrassing
I meant the place where they were standing
I’m sorry but were they not standing on a podium
I hold my nose too—we could both work harder in primary time, I bet—but come election time I’m not saying have total fealty, I’m saying fake it. Only during election time. People respond to excited bases of support, and the other side is a literal cult. Save us from the GOP, then do better next time
She isn’t comfy bc she has family members who r elected GOP members, who hate trans people, & she’s playing bothsides-ism & being incredibly hypocritical. Her announcing she’s voting for VPOTUS in the “but I want to barf” way she did actually did harm, not good. Being quiet would have been better.
She needs to endorse. That’s all. Nothing ludicrous about that. To deny the massive impact of celeb endorsements is to fail to understand both the influence and power of the American celebrity, and the American electorate. To give the impression she’s holding her nose while voting is doing real harm
I don’t give a shit that CR is a pop star, and I think celeb worshipping in the US is insane. But I can’t deny she’s influential, and if influential people can provoke action, and change hearts&minds, as she can, they should be the ones using their voice for good. A country’s democracy is at stake.
You know what, I know what the correct course of action would have been in 1930s Germany. So yeah, I kind of do.
Yes, she does. We have two genocidal candidates. One is way worse than the other. Correct course of action is full throated support now, criticism AFTER inauguration. Anything less risks putting our country in an inferior position and intentionally making life harder for almost every American.
I've never before met someone who thinks it's a good thing strategically for a candidate to not have a passionate base of support from the electorate. I suppose I'm really glad you're not Harris' campaign manager.
