That was my thought: I’m sure it’s there, but my main impression of Dublin is not medieval streetscapes, like an Irish version of the Shambles in York
Yes, only bits and pieces are left. The street layout doesn't survive at all. I don't know what that writer was referring to. I'm not even sure they visited Dublin at all!
