Yup. We basically spend every other weekend cooking and house work while it’s cooking one meal in the slow cooker that’s more expansive and one cheaper but tasty on stove. Rice, bakes beans and spices can make a great cheap and easy to spread on bread thing. I do big recommend the spices,

I use an app called supercook to find recipes but be careful the recipes don’t call for equipment you don’t have, I also recommend an easy fast bread like soda bread, or fry bread(less healthy and harder to make but so good)
Home cooking was super intimidating (and slow) at first but it’s it so hard. And it gets faster as you get used to it. I recommend bulk recipes you can store in small individual portion Tupperware, (for us this is a week portion as we thaw and keep a week proration in fridge for easy heating)
I got a nice slow cooker off the side of the road as the family was throwing it out. I now cook and freeze bulk chili. The freezing process does not degrade it at all. There must be something in the processing part. I also make fry bread from scratch to stretch the chili out as long as I can.
I’ve been home cooking all my meals for about 6 months now. And I had fast food again recently. And boy was it awful experience start to finish lol. Expensive, incorrect, and not really tasty. New appreciation for the work home cooking makes me do. Worth it. Maybe I should make a garden too.
