Do you have an example of what you are expecting? I remember the hype around Windows 95, yeah old, and haven’t seen similar hype from Microsoft around the OS since.
Correct, only part of a system out. I’m still working my way through PHB24 and running 5e campaign there are bits I’d like to try now but mostly the changes look to change table play dramatically.
The release day is highly fractured. Initial release was GenCon and has been trickling out until “official” release day. And it is a big book with lots of moving parts, takes time to read and process changes. A changelog would be helpful. And without DMG or MM lots missing.
