C. difficile is Gram positive, causes antibiotic associated diarrhoea and pseudomembranous colitis (overgrowth) with broad spectrum antibiotics that reduce the total microbiota. Selective targeting of Gram negatives seems to prevent this.

Which light microscope objective do you use to view the cells? Was always the best way to teach undergraduate students the difference, especially between fungi/ yeasts and actinomycetes in practical classes. Perhaps not as simple now…🙂
