This advice to ignore advice does/does not resonate with me.
90% of CORS issues - and I have seen them crop up a lot just recently on an established deployment - are not CORS issues. They are other issues that arose during a CORS process. Latest one: an upload that went over the file size limit. Reported as a CORS error: with a little 413 next to it.

I don’t see the problem If it’s what people want, then it’s going to be frequent/popular. This smells like people saying,965 of people drink alcohol, 95% of people who die in RTAs are in a vehicle…. If it’s a consequence of people’s genuine desire, then it’s ok. Its popularity is not a negative
