When I worked at a hotel that stuff was automated - but they'd check afterwards (when they restocked) and charge your card if you didn't pay for stuff you'd taken.
Strictly, it's an inaccuracy that I spotted as a former civil servant. I only care about that inaccuracy because I don't want people thinking middle managers in the CS are on over 90k.
"They're paid less than many mid ranking civil servants" is not remotely the same as "They're paid more than most of the civil service leadership grades". You're right that this isn't key to your point, but it is important to people's view of CS pay.
Median salary for SCS is 89k.
Maybe, but there are 500k civil servants. The pay band for the bottom rung of the Senior Civil Service is 76-128k, and the great majority of them will be at the bottom end.
100% - but they're still senior roles (and not CS). I don't think MP pay is high enough, but I also don't want people thinking public sector pay for middle managers is comparable!
You say "They’re paid less than many mid-ranking civil servants" - MP pay is just over £91k I think? That's more than all but the most senior civil servants. That doesn't mean 91k is enough, but I think it's strange to assert that about the CS.
The only way to play them!
That's a shame. BG3 is pretty close to 'proper' dnd in my experience, but if you don't like the style 🤷 ER is also amazing tho.
It is a bit, but I think that's mostly surface - might fade if you keep playing? Did you feel the same about the classic Bioware games?
