#1 In a Violent Nature (2024) - Terror Malick. Imagine Jason walking through a field of wildflowers at magic hour. A handsome nature film in Ontario that happens to have an unstoppable killer plodding through it. The standard slasher premise combines natural beauty with satisfyingly gory kills.

#2 The Others (2001) - Nicole Kidman protects her pale children from light and specters in this gloomy ghost story set in a mist-shrouded manor. It would be called cursed elevated horror now but back in 2001 was just a good ghost story. An excellent climax makes up for a bone dry lack of gore.

watched this last night and quite enjoyed it even though I'm not a huge fan of slashers. The kill on the girl in the second pic was something else lol
