It is no win: fail to hydrate properly and feel like you are hung over on the plane, or longer. Hydrate properly and any delay in boarding is likely to cause some distress. It’s still more localized distress to choose the hydration path, though. The effects of dehydration can ruin a trip.

I have a disability that requires me to drink 3 liters of water a day, and it (POTS) is increasingly common with Long COVID. Boarding can take 30 minutes to an hour or more, so attempts to hydrate properly for flights and use the restroom before boarding are almost never enough on their own.

Fellow game developers, I beg of you, please mirror your keyboard controls. My right hand is so screwed from RSI that I mostly use a left handed mouse to avoid pain. Having WASD only means I can only use a right handed mouse. Keyboards are largely symmetrical, just let me mirror! #indiegamedev

I agree that it will be a slow recovery. I tell my students that I think the layoff waves unfortunately gave good cover for #gamedev companies to downsize in prep for the console replacement cycle doldrums, while next gen is in R&D and dev kits aren’t broadly available yet.

Just because a health system wins awards, that doesn’t mean it’s not going to drop you through the cracks. In fact, if the awards drive people there, you’re more likely to struggle. Staying alive is a full time job post-COVID.

This wasn’t a casual allergist appointment - we believe he has experienced multiple violent anaphylactic reactions in the past year and needs an epipen and evaluation. But UCLA kept pushing him back anyway.

We arrived at my new home in Pennsylvania yesterday. One of the things we hoped for was better access to medical care, as we had been struggling with UCLA Health delaying our appts. My husband had been waiting 6 mos for an allergist. Called one out here. They asked if he wanted to come in TODAY.
