In Shropshire, it was commonly believed that a ghost or spirit could not cause harm if it was not directly spoken to. Thus, if you fear a haunting, you must ignore the spirit to ensure they did not gain power over you 👻
i tried that with the ghost of a traffic cop and he was not amused.
Very much an eighteenth-century-ish belief held in Wales too 👻
well this is somewhat reassuring, according to shropshire beliefs i probably handled that thing in the outback (spooky story i posted a few days ago) right by stuffing a blanket in my mouth to be quiet.
Well, I'm fucked. I'm so starved for attention, being haunted by a ghost because I talked to them seems a reasonable proposition at this point.
That just seems like bad manners 😅
