The sky when I got home after work.

Huge billowing nimbus clouds tower in the sky in various shaded of white, grey, and hazy blue. A lone gull swings through the air. The scene is strafed with wires and poles like strange needles and threads, like man is trying to weave a barrier against nature. Dark trees hulk and bunch along the horizon, likely disappointed at all the human ephemera.

My latest New Scientist cartoon 🧪

The Gingerbread Man runs along, singing "Run, run, as fast as you can! You can't catch me. I'm the Gingerbread Man!".

He runs faster. Then faster still. He seems to be running at supernatural speed.

Suddenly, another Gingerbread Man appears, running equally fast in the opposite direction. "Oh no!" they scream, but it is too late: they collide and are smashed into tiny crumbs.

Scientists watch the collision through a strengthened window, analysing the particles created, and commenting "Interesting."

It is revealed that this has all taken place within a scientific laboratory housing the LGC*

So pleased we have games like I Am Your Beast, Anger Foot, Rollerdrome, DOOM, and the "boomer" shooters nowadays.
