AI models don’t store or copy the material they’re trained on. They learn patterns and concepts, much like how you learn ideas in school but don’t memorize every textbook word for word. Limited tolerance for the “AI is theft” argument. It’s a tool. It can make infringing stuff. So can a pencil.

I've been working on a presentation with @popns.bsky.social & a couple of very frustrating things about this stage of the pandemic: there's very little alignment between federal info & what the provinces are doing, and there's mountains of good, reliable research but provinces refuse to adapt.

During the past week, nearly 36,000 Americans were hospitalized with COVID, the highest since January 2023. Over the last two weeks, there were 4,262 COVID deaths. This is the 18th week in a row with more than 1,000 new deaths in the US. The pandemic is not over.
