Fountain pen ink is water soluble so yeah, it's not going to behave very well when you get it wet. If you're okay with mostly black, Platinum Carbon Black inks are VERY good for this purpose. It's a micropigment ink, so once it dries it's pretty water-resistant.

Might as well start with a new song that's really caught my ear; I've been following Dance with the Dead for years and they just get better with every release.

Been a while since I did one of these.

House rules all the way. Since I'm most likely to be running OSE or WWN, I'm going to be importing a lot of material from other sources anyway. That said I'm pretty sure most TTRPGs are improved by doing at least some some minor customization for the players at your table.

I've got other plans for CWN, for that matter.

SWN is pretty high on my list of options but it falls into about the same range as Traveller. My home group and I are also not terribly fond of classes and levels when it comes to SF stuff, though I will admit the way the Without Number games handle class is pretty easy to work with.

WEG D6 is a really good option, and when the new revised edition gets released it might be the solution I've always wanted - but we're not there yet.
