Old lady over the road just had her TV die on her. She bought it many years ago from Currys and so took it back to them to repair. They told her it was out of warrantee. She apparently went at them so hard about how unacceptable an excuse she felt this was that they've given her a £500 voucher.

Currys are terrible at understanding Consumer Rights Act stuff (or more likely they deliberately train their staff to ignore it). Even for stuff bought recently they seem to think that anything that breaks should be between you and the manufacturer. 🤦🏼‍♂️

When I grow old I shall wear purple And I shall berate the staff at Currys For stuff that isn't their fault...

Worked at Macy's once. During training was told story about Nordstrom was great at customer svc, using the example of old lady who wanted to return tires but Nordies didn't sell tires. They took the tires. Since then I never thought about their good cust svc. Always thought about how badass she was.

Can you send her round to come with me to Mercedes Benz "West Bromley"? I could do with her in my corner next time the "check engine" light comes on (a depressingly frequent event).
