I think others have touched on this before but maybe we should rename the NCN to reflect it's broader appeal. Can I suggest the National Active Network - or NAN

Have you seen Sustrans recent campaign? They've been calling it the National Play Network and the National Nature Network, for example. I like that they've been doing that, but I agree with @ianwalker.bsky.social, the name is the not the priority.

How about abbreviating it "NaN"? Then we can talk about routes like "NaN 51"... en.wikipedia.org/wiki/NaN

I'm not sure the name is the main issue with it, tbh
