This is something I know from research most people don't understand--the estrogen I take every morning isn't any different than the estrogen countless cis women take every morning. It's not a radical field of medicine; it's a very common medicine being banned for trans people and trans people only.
Yep, got gender affirming care when I was a teen. I had PCOS, treated with oral contraceptives. Didn't want hair on my face. Nobody thought twice about it, cuz I am cis.
As someone who takes birth control, I'm honored to share this battle with my trans sisters. Bodily autonomy for all!

This is an excellent example of how reporting that's supposed to be objective gets peppered with language that creates inbuilt (and unchallenged) biases and assumptions. It's an intersectional issue that we should all care about.

Estrogen was the first hormone discovered because it's an unusually large molecule. It's better understood than any other hormone.
