chisato and takina from lycoris recoil are really Good btw but most of the anime I've watched have female protagonists and I think all of them are good so I've never understood people who say things like "female characters aren't written well" because I've never noticed that to be true

I think I've seen it a lot when referring to side female characters as well, not just protagonists. Side female characters are so often very underdeveloped. Shounen is the main offender here lmao
