I might add it only takes 6 inches of fast moving water to sweep an adult off their feet and 12 inches to sweep away a vehicle. Most storm related drownings occur in vehicles. Turn around don't drown! And above all hide from the wind, RUN from the water!

I have been in a vehicle in a flash flood and narrowly escaped, but it was terrifying. Also lost a car to a blocked drain on a freeway on-ramp that led to a very deep puddle at the bottom (that ramp has since been re-graded and re-paved to eliminate the dip at the bottom.) Water is serious.
