yeah it's 100% the awful factory farming conditions of most american egg production, poor feed and conditions lead to pale yolks with weak flavor. buying the cage free (for usually 2.5x-3x the price!) KINDA addresses the issue but our standards are so low that even the Good Stuff mostly sucks

the best egg i can get here without hunting down a farmer is 'The Happy Egg' which is like ten bucks a dozen, but unlike the other expensive eggs at Ralph's is actually good and if you're really flush you can get their Heritage line, which is excellent but even pricier
