I struggle with this in the sense I don't find my research to be that important bc after working on it for years it just seems simple & obvious to me. And other people have to repeatedly remind me otherwise.

Wait until 30y after you got your PhD someone challenges you to look at it again and you find out you have used a lot of it but in totally different fields. Plus most of the world has still to catch!
