Really weird choice of BBC Radio 4 news this morning to choose the latest Trump rally as its leading item. There was nothing remarkable about the rally (or relevant to the UK); it was just a reminder of the assassination attempt, which is old news and had already been covered a lot at the time.
I think this is a female oak bush-cricket. They are attracted to light so sometimes come into the house, but this was an unusual location. They can jump, but are normally happy to walk into their "taxi" for transportation back to the garden.

I acquired a follower here who I do not think I would ever want to interact with and would block very quickly if they ever caused trouble, but it didn't seem right to block them "without trial". What if it were someone who might be influenced a little by what I posted for the better?

It's the males roaming, searching for a female to mate with. The females tend to stay wherever they are and wait.
