I suppose that thinking is the child of living on an island; but that means all the inhabitants of Manhattan are either insane or brilliant, and one walk down 52nd Street will hastily confirm the former.

I really like the idea of choosing a committee by lot who then choose the voters. Cycling through this process more than once doesn’t seem to add much. On a side point - is it always acceptable to misread “doge” as “dog” when learning Venetian history?

My favorite thing in this is that they changed the final number of electors from 40 to 41 to prevent a tie, but then set the minimum threshold to 25 anyway, like, *just to be safe*
