How do independent emission inventories (colours) compare to country reported CH4 emissions (black)? There are some striking differences (USA, BRA, RUS, COD, IND), but which estimates are correct? This requires the use of observations for verification. essd.copernicus.org/articles/16/...

Do all countries report CH4 emissions to the UNFCCC? Yes, but there are different requirements for developed & developing countries. Here are CH4 emissions in 8 large emitters. From this year official reporting is meant to become more comprehensive. essd.copernicus.org/articles/16/...

A quite critical take on that background used to justify active forest management in Sweden. [Next week we should hear if our NFR project looking at these issues in Norway gets funded... If only our introduction was as strong as this comment!] 4/4

"The recent decreasing trend in forest growth rates now threatens a forest sector that largely has operated on the assumption of a continuous growth increase in biomass production, but the decline also jeopardizes EU targets..." 2/

"Following the gradual long-term rise in productivity [in Swedish forests], the accelerating increase in growth rate in the early 2000s came as a positive surprise... this rapid upsurge [was used to justify the bioeconomy]" Then surge reversed... www.sciencedirect.com/science/arti... 1/

I guess it is a days work. Though, I also have a lot of requests to do something similar for LULUCF figures, UNFCCC figures, etc. When there are so many pages, it does become work to maintain. Maybe we should make a list of desirable webpages, and knock them off over time.
