Same. The painful thing is that the Harper government changed this law in 2009. So if I'd realized I could do this earlier in my life, I would have had a chance to be Canadian.

Yuuuuup. I learned about it all around about 2011 when I was looking into seeing if I qualified. Because of the way my grandfather lost his citizenship there was a grace period or something that would have allowed him to reapply, then I could have gotten it. But he had already passed away by then.
