A question for Destiny artists here, how do you draw Awoken characters? specifically their skin tone and the glow they have? As someone who does traditional art with pencil crayons (specifically only the ones I find in my house), I have a hard time trying make it work for my style 1/2 #destiny2art

Oh also (I guess 3/3 lmao) awoken still have red blood, we can tell by the cutscenes. So subsurface scattering should still have red influence, and so should shadows. I use soft reds, purples, blues, and greens for my boy because his skin is kind of a lavender-blue

I mostly work digitally but if I was doing it traditionally, I would be coloring only where there should be color. Digitally, I use a light greyscale base and either a soft light or overlay color layer, depending on how strong the color should be, and then a light dodge layer just for the glow (1/2)

usually I wing skin tones with mixes of browns, peach, tan, etc depending on who i'm doing. but even when I am slowly learning digital art, I don't know where to start with the Awoken it's why my oc Awoken Warlock remains as sketch-only until I figure this out lol 2/2
