As someone who works for an environmental engineering firm, it’s always interesting to explain to folks what the infrastructure they take for granted is doing. I have been recommending Deb Chachra’s “How Infrastructure Works” to folks a lot lately.

There's another layer to this which is that it's honestly fascinating? Kids know this intuitively they love youtube videos of factories. I still love going to "factories". I dragged a friend to a salt production facility when I was in the UK.
