We don't generally let people pour sewage into public swimming pools. Don't see why we should let people poison the internet with toxic generative "A.I." misinformation and bullshit.

Like I don’t get it generative AI isn’t an information source. It never has been. It’s not designed to know “stuff.” It’s designed to recognize patterns and generate something using those patterns. It doesn’t care if it’s “accurate” only that it follows the pattern.

Two things need to happen: 1) The companies that run GenAI services need to pay their own electric bills without subsidies. 2) The same companies need to be held to strict liability for misinformation presented by their services. Do those two things, the GenAI problem disappears by Tuesday.
