They could VERY EASILY justify giving Trump’s proposal to violently remove millions or execute The Purge the Hillary email treatment, but they don’t. And won’t.
My guess is that official policy is NOTHING he says can get the Emails kind of coverage. The thing with Trump is he’s been escalating for years. If he says the most outrageous thing he ever said, & you give it wall-to-wall Emails coverage, when he says something even crazier tomorrow you’re stuck.
They could even give it the “Biden old” treatment
people say “they want the clicks.” That doesn’t make sense when you consider how much traffic would go to an article with the headline “Donald Trump calls for a night of uncheck police violence.”
Yes. Blanket coverage of his role in Jan 6 would have shut him down years ago. He barely gets asked if he will do more violence this time, and when he does, he says “It depends” (basically, a promise that he will). Still barely a peep from the media.

This can't and won't happen (and I think probably shouldn't) but if the DOJ held a presser detailing the opening of an investigation into any of this (I dunno, the bribes, the terrorism, embezzling campaign finances, etc.) I guess the frame would be horror that dems are abusing power, not Her Emails
Or keep pushing that he’s an insurrectionist, or a felon, or a rapist, or stole classified docs, or exposed classified info to everyone at Mar-a-Lago, or fell in love with dictators, or…etc. Pick any random hour from Trump’s political career and you’ll find a scandal that dwarfs Hillary’s emails
You could argue the endorsement is just to cover themselves.
