Word of warning if you got a UV-K5 with the charging cradle that connects to AC: One broken off wire and a bit of bad luck and your battery connector is connected to 110V/230V. Quality (proper isolation) of the transformer is also unknown. 🔌☠️⚡ #hamradio#amateurfunk

Building the QRP-LABS QMX+ was a lot of fun! I was wondering initially why i was not getting and TC power out and i could only hear -33dbm signals injected to the radio. Then i realized i missed the step where you actually need to connect the bnc to the radio via a jumper 😂 #hamradio#amateurradio

Testing the waters on @bsky.app#SOTA#HamRadio in Oregon back in July working 2m CW using a Quansheng UV-K5 with IJV 3rd-party firmware upgrade. Using the PTT as a straight key here. It works surprisingly well!
