I know what you mean. Surgery I can take or leave, but I would give *anything* to stop the hair on my face from growing.
Thinking some more on this, the ’88 WGA strike almost certainly helped, too. By the time that ended, it was a mad scramble to get content flowing again. It was always going to be easier to renew an existing show than take a chance on something brand new on short notice.
I’m not the type to quote movies at people, but I will ascribe odd synchronicities to the Lattice of Coincidence on the regular. (No one ever gets my little joke.) Unlike most movies that are “of their time”, I feel like this one makes me feel like I’m there, not just observing it from the future.
nothing wrong with a little mornography now and then
I did my first ever rewatch (since its original run) about 5 years ago. It’s a legitimate miracle this show survived past the first season. (Season 2 is better than its reputation, but the quality is all over the place.)
I’m old, fat, ugly, and trans. *Every* opinion I share gets this reaction.
I’ve been trying to tell my IRL friends for a while that the path we’re on gives us something like twenty years until we trade “school shootings are the price of freedom” for “MOVE-style bombings are the price of freedom”, but no one wants to hear it.
I saw mother! on the big screen. People started walking out as early as fifteen minutes into the movie. By the time the baby died, I was the only person left in the theater. Abject failure of a movie.
I had the Atari 7800 port of this, which unbeknownst to Childhood Me had a bug that made it unwinnable.
